As per a press release from the German Academic Exchange Service, a significant number of Indians have enrolled in various courses in Germany. As per the official statistics, there is a 25% spike in the number of Indian students studying in Germany in just one year. In Germany, there are nearly 43,000 Indian students which is the highest number of foreign students in Germany than from any other country. The number of Indian students studying in Germany has also doubled in the last five years.
German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann expressed his happiness with these statistics. He said that the numbers have increased much faster than expected. He also remembered that German professors often say- “Germany is popular among Indians- Indians are popular in Germany.”
This latest development is really good news for many study abroad aspirants as it’s now more conducive to studying in Germany than ever before in Germany. Last year in 2022, India and Germany signed an agreement to encourage the mutual movement of students, professionals, and researchers between both countries which is a great move to encourage study abroad aspirants.
According to the stats, more Indian students preferred engineering courses in Germany followed by Law and Management courses. Germany is one of the best countries to study in Europe as most of the public universities in Germany offers education free of cost even for some costlier course like engineering.
