Standardised Tests

SAT

(Scholastic Assessment Test)

Tests the readiness of students for college and is majorly accepted by US universities along with many other countries.

ACT

(American College Testing)

Pretty much similar to SAT. Helps students to pursue UG programs in American Universities.

AP

(Advanced Placement Examination)

Provides opportunities to pursue UG courses while studying in high school. Scores in the AP exam can help during admission into UG programs in the US and Canadian universities.

Language Proficiency tests

TOEFL

(Test of English as a Foreign Language)

Tests the English language proficiency of students from countries who don’t have English as a native language. Majorly accepted in the US and Canadian Universities.

(International English Language Testing System)

The purpose of IELTS is similar to TOEFL. Majorly accepted in the UK and Australian Universities.

(Pearson Test of English)

Tests the applicant’s reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English and it’s accepted by 3000+ universities from 73 countries.

DET

(Duolingo English Test)

Introduced in 2016 and has been gaining significant popularity in recent years. Tests the literacy, production, comprehension, and conversational skills of the applicants.

(Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program)

Consider preparing for CELPIP if you are specifically planning to study in Canada.

CAE

(Cambridge Advanced English)

This test is being administered by Cambridge University and is accepted by a wide range of universities across the world.
